Little by little, and in total safety, we are returning to normality. From 2 May until 30 June, the Mértola Museums units are open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:15 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm, and on Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (closed on Monday and Sunday afternoon).
Visits are still subject to reduced capacity and guided tours with an external guide are allowed, as long as they comply with the rules in force. We are also resuming the scheduling of tours guided by the Museum services, with a maximum of 25 people per group. Admission is free at all sites.
Over the last year, we have taken advantage of the opportunity to renovate the Museum’s units, not only in terms of museographical issues and the maintenance of the items on display, but also by carrying out interventions on the buildings and initiatives that contribute to improve our energy efficiency. Highlight goes to the intervention carried out in the Roman House, already open to the public, and in the Islamic Art unit, which is still closed, but due to reopen by the end of May.
