Little by little and in complete safety, we are returning to normal. From the 2nd of May until the 30th of June, the opening hours of the museum centers of the Museum of Mértola operate from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:15 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm, and on Sunday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (closed, Monday and Sunday afternoon).
The visit is also subject to the capacity of the spaces and guided visits with an external guide are allowed, provided they comply with the established rules. We also resumed the scheduling of guided tours by the Museum’s services, with a maximum of 25 people per group, and admission is free in all locations.
During the last year, we have taken the opportunity to re-qualify the Museum’s nuclei, not only with regard to museographic issues and the maintenance of the exhibited objects, but also to intervene on the buildings and to carry out actions that contribute to greater energy efficiency. We highlight the intervention carried out at Casa Romana, which is already open to the public, and at the Islamic Art Center, which is still closed, and which we hope to reopen by the end of May.
There are also other news that we invite you to see on the spot after scheduling your visit using www.museudemertola.pt and www.visitmertola.pt.
Here we are to receive you. Visit Mértola and enjoy its natural and cultural heritage, the contact with its people and the characteristic hospitality of Alentejo.
