One of the objectives of the M\u00e9rtola Cl\u00e1udio Torres Museum is to promote its collection, not only at the M\u00e9rtola Museum sites, but also through temporary and travelling exhibitions organised by a wide range of partner institutions in Portugal and abroad. In this context, we have entered into a long-term loan agreement for a 12th-century bowl decorated using the cuerda seca technique, which will enrich the permanent exhibition of the National Museum of Ancient Art (MNAA), a leading museum on the national and international museum scene.<\/p>\n
This is a glazed ceramic bowl decorated using the full cuerda seca technique. On the inside, the geometric decorative motif forms a large rosette, alternating white, green and honey-coloured tones, harmoniously combined to create a highly attractive composition. The object will be incorporated into the exhibition The Decorative Arts in Portugal (12th century\u20131834), located on Floor 2 of the MNAA\u2019s Rebelo de Andrade Annex Building, from late 2026.<\/p>\n
