Trainee at the Nova University of Lisbon and the University of Orleans (France)<\/b><\/p>\n
Within the scope of research support, Ana Cadena-Irizar, a Mexican researcher who is taking her PhD in Cultural Heritage Conservation in a joint programme between the Nova University of Lisbon and the Universit\u00e9 d’Orl\u00e9ans in France, was at the Technical Area of the Cl\u00e1udio Torres M\u00e9rtola Museum from 3 to 7 June 2024.<\/p>\n
She explains that she is ‘<\/span>studying the Islamic glass of the Gharb al-Andalus from the 8<\/i>th<\/sup><\/i><\/span> to the 13<\/i>th<\/sup><\/i><\/span> century, to understand the manufacturing technologies and glass circulation in the Iberian Peninsula, and its connection with the Near East and Northern Africa. The study of vitreous material from different contexts in M\u00e9rtola is being fundamental to understand the role of cities in Portuguese territories as part of my research.
