IACAM project – 2024 work campaign<\/b><\/p>\n
The archaeological work for the 4th<\/sup><\/span> campaign of archaeological excavations in the area known as Cerca das Alcarias in the village of Mesquita (Esp\u00edrito Santo) took place between 20 May and 3 June, as part of the IACAM project – Interven\u00e7\u00e3o arqueol\u00f3gica nas Cercas das Alcarias, with the scientific coordination of Maria de F\u00e1tima Palma (M\u00e9rtola Archaeological Site) and Bilal Sarr (University of Granada). The excavation involved an international team of researchers and students from Portugal and Spain, totalling 12 people, who throughout the process were able to socialise with the Mesquita village community and share the first results of the excavation.<\/p>\n This campaign is part of the IACAM project being developed by the University of Granada and the M\u00e9rtola Archaeological Site.
