Exhibition ‘From Craftmanship to Design’ – Loul\u00e9 Criativo, Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Passa ao Futuro and Via Criativa<\/b><\/p>\n
M\u00e9rtola Castle Gallery – 13 to 31 May 2023<\/b><\/p>\n
The ‘From Craftsmanship to Design’ exhibition brings together projects by Loul\u00e9 Criativo, Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Passa ao Futuro and Via Criativa, with the aim of showcasing products resulting from the use of traditional materials and techniques with a current and innovative design that meets the challenges of innovation, contemporaneity and sustainability.<\/p>\n
As part of the Creative Loul\u00e9 project, a residency was held for three Loul\u00e9 designers who, with a new vision, returned to their origins promoting meetings with artisans and the connection between the worlds of tradition and innovation. Three aspects were worked on: the use of local materials (taking advantage of resources and waste), the combination of materials (reinforcing action by valuing traditional arts), and the valorisation of local products.<\/p>\n
More information at: https:\/\/loulecriativo.pt\/<\/span><\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Via Criativa – design for local development has been developing the ‘Designing Future Land’ project, which aims to implement a sustainable design model in the area of slow fashion, by creating a pilot brand based on local culture. In this context, Projeto Safra – Desenhando M\u00e9rtola (Safra Project – Designing M\u00e9rtola) brings together creative people around sustainable concepts in their various aspects and that speak of identity, referring to references about places, namely those with a connection to the territory, to the communities, and directly or indirectly related to the Alentejo, echoing the region of M\u00e9rtola.<\/p>\n More information at:<\/p>\n https:\/\/desenharterrafutura.wixsite.com\/safra<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n https:\/\/jornal.bairrossaudaveis.gov.pt\/projetos\/00000905\/index.htm<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n The mission of Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Passa ao Futuro is to preserve, promote, innovate, activate and celebrate the Portuguese crafts sector through a set of initiatives that support a socially, economically and environmentally responsible and sustainable design process.
