Taking into account the social mission of museums and the new reality associated with the current pandemic, ICOM presents the theme for 2021: ‘The future of museums: recovering and reimagining’.
With this theme, ICOM challenges museums, their professionals and communities to create, imagine and share new practices of (co)creation of value, new business models for cultural institutions and innovative solutions to today’s social, economic and environmental challenges.
In this context, the Mértola Museum, in partnership with Mértola’s Archaeological Site, will organise the activity ‘The Museum goes to the Children’s Workshop’. The aim is to involve children in themes related to the Museum’s collection and to maintain contact with important local events such as the Islamic Festival.

The Social Media will also feature the APP to support visits to the Mértola Museum, which will allow visitors to intuitively create visitation routes and obtain information on location, timetables and content.
